Enrique Cavelier

I am a Landscape Architect and Spatial Researcher who believes in the capacity of design to transform our current realities by imagining radical futures and enacting change.

Working across landscape and architecture, I engage in projects that propose new spatial relationships between peoples, ecologies, and cultures. Through deliberate research and meticulous design using film, storytelling, fieldwork, and drawings, I aim to address the most challenging issues of our contemporary societies.

In long durée projects such as Plantation Futures (2023) and PÚBLICO (2020), I immerse myself in situated contexts collaborating with communities and activists to incite provocations to the status quo and working alongside them to demand change on those interrogations.

At the same time, competition briefs and academic projects like Cyborg Landscapes (2022), ADIÓS (2023), and Living Memory (2023are short moments and sites to challenge the expected and create alternative narratives and forms to relate with the landscapes around us.
